Begining SEO users should acknowledge that it is an ongoing process that will take some time and full commitment. Rules of search engines are constantly changing, stay on top of them by optimizing your site on a consistent basis. Keeping your ranking above the crowds is all about using what works now and forgetting about what doesn't work anymore. If you aren't working to maintain your ranking your site won't stay at the top position for long. On top of that, you will likely be facing competition from many other websites. You need to beat them, reach the top and stay there. Don't think it is all about building more backlinks, updating content and adding relevant keywords, there are other ways too, like targeted niches. There are many things you can do to bring ratings up, however staying there takes commitment from you. Long tail keywords will result in less competition which will allow your site to stay on top longer without lifting a finger. However, if your keywords are receiving fierce competition it becomes imperative for you to analyze your rankings in order to stay on top. 

It's common knowledge among people who practice search engine optimization that the importance of meta tags in determining a site's ranking has declined over the last few years. That's because the search engines constantly evolve and use different criteria to rank sites. Whereas they once looked at tags, now they are more concerned with a site's content. For SEO purposes, you still have to be sure that your keywords and description meta tags are properly set up. When search engines list your site, they give out your description so that the users know what your site is all about.

It's important, therefore, that your description meta tag be filled out in an appropriate way. SEO can be complicated but if you keep these small things in mind, it'll turn simple in the long run. Be sure to use your main keywords in the keyword tag, so the search engines can relate your site to the right keywords. The keywords in your meta tag should be a match to your site's content, so make sure they are also on your home page.

One often overlooked tip that really works is linking your internal pages together so that they all benefit from the rankings of the main page. Accomplishing this one task can significantly boost your search engine ranking. Easily link relevant pages using anchor text in keywords. This strategy can be seen working for many big websites like Wikipedia, which is heavily interlinked. It's easy to do and there is no reason why you should also reap the benefits of this strategy. Go on show em how it's done, the search engines will be impressed by your ability to link both externally and internally. SEO is of course the easiest way to drive targeted traffic to your site without the worry of loss.

Many people, especially newer marketers, still like to make websites based on Flash, and they do look nice but are not adviseable for SEO. However, there's no disputing the fact that Flash sites can look really impressive to people. But along the way, they forget that flash is the biggest enemy of SEO. Simply stated, Flash stops search engine spiders dead in their tracks because they can't read it. So if you are aiming for search engine traffic (which everyone should) then you need to have an HTML alternative on your site that has written content that the search engines can read and index. Just remember that you'll never have the kind of success with SEO if you use Flash.

Failing to get the most advantage in terms of SEO has to do with your URL, or domain name. Dynamic URLs still work and do get ranked, but that doesn't give you a reason to not leverage your URL for SEO purposes. You shouldn't ignore the power of using keywords, both in the main URL and in the files that are its part. You'll be giving your site a huge advantage by following this simple strategy, and of course you'll still need to do backlinking.

Backlink spamming is pretty common, but it is a practice you would best serve yourself by avoiding.

It is just not necessary to link spam anything – blogs, forums, and do stay away from link farms. It's just not worth it because your site can be totally deindexed, or your domain name can even be blacklisted and banned from the search engines. The very best approach is to obtain one-way links from high quality and relevant websites. Your search engine ranking will be much more solid, even though this approach will be time-consuming and harder to do. SEO can be learned if you do the proper research, even though the previously mentioned mistakes make it look quite complicated. The first thing you need to do is decide how to optimize your site, afterwards put all your ideas down on paper into a plan and, subsequently, implement your plan. The most important thing you can do for your site is to put in the work to generate organic traffic. Keep pushing until you actually see the results, which you will.

What does Headspace2 plugin do?

This plugin helps optimize your blog posts for your chosen keyword.

Consider for example, that I am promoting a product called Niche Blueprint 2.0 and one of the keywords I want to go for is Niche Blueprint 2.0 review. As you probably know, that having the keyword in the Post title is very important for SEO purposes so naturally our Post title will be Niche Blueprint 2.0 review.

Headspace2 adds additional SEO to the blog post which is very important, so without further delay let me demonstrate how I would go about configuring Headspace2 for this particular post.

Step 1. Download and activate the headspace2 plugin and click on Settings.

Step 2. Click on settings and select Page Modules.

Step 3. Changing the module settings

Move the Site name from the list of Disabled Modules to the top of Simple Module and click on save settings.

Step 4. Write a Post with your keyword in title. In the below screenshot, I have Niche Blueprint 2.0 review in the title.

Step 5. How to fill the Headspace settings for maximum SEO benefit.

- Scroll down and you'll find a Headspace2 setting dialog box
- In the sitename, fill the title of the post
- In the Page Title, fill the title (a question or something that entices the reader to click on your link)
- In the description, add further details as shown below.

Follow, the above steps everytime you make a new post to ensure that each post is optimized for search engines.
